In a remarkable celebration of African excellence, Vusi Thembekwayo, a revered leadership and business coach, was honored at the prestigious 14th African Achievers Awards. Hosted by Baroness Verma, a Member of the House of Lords, this year’s awards embraced the theme“Empowering Africa: Honoring Excellence in Leadership and Innovation.” The African Achievers Awards (AAA),esteemed for recognizing exemplary African leaders and institutions, celebrated achievements across various sectors, including business, politics, education, and social development.
Vusi Thembekwayo’s Moment of Honor
Expressing profound gratitude after receiving the African Achievers Award 2024, Vusi Thembekwayo delivered an inspiring keynote at the gala dinner. Reflecting on his journey “From Benoni to the House of Lords,” Vusi emphasized the importance of mentorship and empowerment, sharing the spotlight with a young African mentee. The event featured HRH Olori Atuwatse III, Queen Consort of Warri Kingdom, delivering a keynote on“Reimagining Africa: Sustainability as a Pathway to a New Global Image.” Dr. Susan Fajana-Thomas, Chair of the AAA Board, led the opening ceremony, highlighting the awards’ mission to propel sustainable growth and leadership excellence in Africa. Honoring Outstanding Achievements The ceremony spotlighted various award categories, including African Business Leader of the Year and Excellence in Innovation and Technology. Notable recipients included Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the 21st Olu of Warri, Nigeria; Caleb Mutfwang, Governor of Plateau State, Nigeria; and Vusi Thembekwayo, founder/CEO of MyGrowthFund Venture Partners, South Africa.
