VUSI THEMBEKWAYO RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS GUARDIAN AWARD AT EMY AFRICA AWARDS

Renowned venture capitalist, coach, mentor, and best-selling author Vusi Thembekwayo received the prestigious Guardian Award at the 9th Annual EMY Africa Awards. The ceremony, held on Sunday, November 24th, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre, celebrated outstanding African leaders. Among the honourees was celebrated actor, writer, and humanitarian Dr. Tata John Kani OIS OBE, recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his extraordinary contributions to the arts and his enduring impact on African culture. The event marked another successful year for EMY Africa, a leading organization dedicated to inspiring greatness across the continent.

EMY Africa, a significant force in recognizing impactful individuals, partners annually with key entities such as the Diaspora Affairs Office, the Office of the President of Ghana, the Ghana Tourism Authority, and the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre. The event’s legacy of celebrating impactful men and women is underscored by a distinguished list of past recipients, including former President of Ghana John Agyekum Kufuor, Tony Elumelu, Sir Sam Jonah, Abedi Pele, Azumah Nelson, Meiwey, and Boris Kodjoe, among many others.

The Guardian Award, specifically created to honour thought leaders, role models, and inspirational mentors, is a fitting tribute to Vusi’s remarkable career. His significant contributions as a venture capitalist, his impactful coaching and mentorship, and his internationally recognized work as a keynote speaker and author have made him a catalyst for positive change in the business world. For nine years, he has delivered over 180 presentations across four continents, impacting countless individuals and organizations. His influence extends to advising Fortune 500 companies and blue-chip corporations, solidifying his status as a leading figure in African business.
